Caldwell

Caldwell is a small town and a designated Main Street City halfway between Dallas and Houston. It is at the intersection of state highways 21 and 36. It's the county seat of Burleson County and a part of the Bryan-College Station metropolitan area. As of 2010, the population was 4,104.
History
The community of Caldwell, established along Old San Antonio Road west of Davidson Creek, was named for Mathew Caldwell. Lewis L. Chiles established a town in this territory, and until Burleson County's establishment in 1846, the town served as the county seat of Milam County. Caldwell's incorporation took place in 1891.
